This study takes young children and their parents and separates them as each of them go through a series of treatments for 10 weeks. After their individual sessions the parents and children were reunited for a brief joint session. There were three groups; the contingency management, the cognitive self-control, and the educational support control group. Kids in both the experimental conditions improved and maintained the level of improvement upon follow up after 3, 6, and 12 months. Children in the control condition continued to improve upon follow ups while the experimental groups reached a plateau.
