“Stop the Hate” Program Presented at Scranton

The University of Scranton’s United Colors Organization and the Debate Society will present “Stop the Hate,” a diversity training program, on Saturday, Oct. 25, from noon to 3:30 p.m. in the PNC Auditorium of the Loyola Science Center. The event will include a debate on the incidents that took place in Ferguson, Missouri.

Barbara Johnson, director of diversity initiatives at Carlow University, Pittsburgh, will lead diversity training. Last January,  Johnson was nominated for the Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Leadership Award from the Coro Center for Civic Leadership, Pittsburgh.

The presentation is open to the general public and area college students, free of charge. A light lunch will be served.

The event is offered in conjunction with Project VOICE, a men of color initiative housed in the University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs.
